Coach Bruce Waggoner
Team Coach
Coach Bruce has been coaching for over 40 years and 12 of them have been with Coach Soda. When he isn’t breathing chalk and catching flying gymnastics he volunteers at local High schools sharing his love of science and space. Coach Bruce started working with Coach Soda because he realized they shared the same philosophy about gymnastics being for everyone and that it’s about helping children create a joy and enthusiasm for healthy living, not just bringing home medals. Did I mention he also works full time at JPL? Yes, Coach Bruce is not only our most patient coach but he’s also a rocket scientist!
He has helped gymnasts win local , state, national and world titles .

Coach Mike Daviau
Mike discovered his passion for gymnastics as a child after being inspired by watching the Olympics on TV. At nine years old he signed up for gymnastics and that’s when he met Coach Soda. Although there wasn’t a boys’ program at the time, Soda was inspired to start one and tested Mike’s flexibility (which, he admits, wasn’t anything special!) and encouraged him to join. That moment sparked a lifelong love for the sport. Mike has coached at a couple other SoCal gyms over the years. Now, as a coach, Mike combines years of experience in gymnastics and skateboarding instruction to create a fun and supportive environment where students can build confidence and develop their skills
